From the Archives…

Back in November of 2010, Dinell aka “Mommy D” (the founder & former owner of The Weekly Spectre) wrote “As most of you know by now I am not able to keep up Weekly Spectre Website anymore… I don’t feel I can give Weekly Spectre the attention that it deserves.” In 2011, I took over the Weekly Spectre in order to archive its content from the Mommy D days and prepare to add new content going forward.

This is an archive of Mommy D’s Ghostly Activity Diary. Hopefully in the future, if time allows, Dinell will come back and update us on any new activity in her home.

Over the past few months I have noticed some strange activity going on in my home. Along with the live webcam and Haunted Dolls page I am going to make a diary for the strange occurrences that we notice. We, being my husband Patrick, who is a Science ruled type, (He believes, it just takes a tremendous amount of proof to persuade him) and myself, a former paranormal investigator turned stay at home Mommy.

You will find the current months entries on this page. Any entries for past months will be in the Diary Archives which you will find at the bottom of this page. I would normally not let people read my diary, I am a girl after all, but I am making an exception for my paranormal friends!

November, 2010

11/09 7:00PM - Been pretty noisy all evening. Lots of knocks and thumps coming from various rooms.

11/08 10:41PM - Saw a book pull half way out from the bookshelf and stop. Not sure how I would go about debunking that one!

11/02 11:10PM - While upstairs again I heard the little girl voice. This time it sounded like it said “Dad.”

11/02 9:04PM - While upstairs trying to get the baby to sleep I heard what sounded like a little girl voice coming from downstairs. It was just one word, but I couldn’t make out what it was. There was no one downstairs at the time.

11/01 1:34AM - I was sleeping and woke up suddenly for no apparent reason. Two seconds later I heard a distinctly male voice whisper in my ear. It was a full 5 or 6 word sentence. I was so startled that I wasn’t able to catch what was said. I asked my hubby if he had said anything, but he had not.

October, 2010

10/15 9:12PM - After reviewing the video footage from the webcam, at approximately 9:12PM the playhouse door closes on it’s own. You can find the video on the web cam page under evidence.

10/14 6:30PM - My 19 month old daughter stared up the stairs for a few minutes. she would not look away. She then waved and said “hi” to what ever she was seeing. A few seconds later she turned away and started playing like nothing out of the ordinary had occurred.

10/12 8:00PM - When I took my daughter upstairs for bed the lamp on the mantle was off. When I came back downstairs it was on. My husband was upstairs with my son the whole time.

10/05 All Day - The TV kept Pausing and switching channels. Changed the batteries, but that didn’t help!

10/04 All Day - There is a off switch on the bottom of my wireless mouse. Anytime I didn’t use the mouse for a few minutes or left the computer for a minute or two the mouse would be turned to the off position when I tried to use it again. This happened all thru-out the day. Pretty annoying actually! LOL

10/03 11:30PM - When I put the baby down for the night the fan was on in her room, just as it always is. We heard some noise on the baby monitor around 10pm. Sounded like the door opening and closing. I thought me son had woke up and went in there but he was asleep in bed. About 11:30 I went to check on the baby and the fan in her room was off.

10/03 4:00AM - I woke up to some strange noise in the middle of the nite. My son had crawled into bed with us so I thought that was what woke me up. The clock said 3:46AM. I fell back to sleep. I woke again to a loud thud. I sat up and looked around. The alarm clock that sits on my husbands bedside table was on the floor. This has never happened before. The kids and hubby were sound asleep. The alarm clock sits in the middle of the table. My hubs book sits next to it. Where the clock was on the floor it would have had to either push the book off onto the floor too, or jump over it. The book was exactly where it was tho. The clock said 4:03AM.

September, 2010

9/30 10:00PM - I was trying to fix the webcam. I had it on and I was looking at the webpage code to see why it wasn’t showing up. For some reason the motion detection was on on the cam and it started zooming in. It zoomed in squarely on Chambray’s face. By the time I turned around to look at her the cam had gone back to normal.

9/26 3:00PM - The phone stopped working. Couldn’t figure out what was up with it. I checked the outlet and it was unplugged. The kids couldn’t have reached it because it is plugged in behind a bookcase. Had to move the book case out to plug it back in.

9/18 8:00PM - Husband was upstairs in my sons room getting him ready for bed. They heard the door open a little and expected to see me come in. When I didn’t come in husband told my son that the door moved because I had walked by to take my daughter to bed. My son then went and knocked on the door which I heard, DOWNSTAIRS. I was in the kitchen at this time.

9/16 8:52AM - Almost overwhelming scent of carnations in the house. I couldn’t trace the smell, it seems to be just a pocket of scent in the air. It comes and goes. We don’t have any flowers in the house right now.

9/12 8:40PM - The Flameless candle I have on the shelf with the dolls was moved about two inches from where it was. I noticed this because it was partially hanging over the edge of the shelf. It comes on automatically a little after 8pm and I remember seeing it come on. It wasn’t hanging over the edge at the time.

9/10 6:00AM - When I came downstairs in the morning one of the stuffed animals that I have on the shelf under the dolls was in the middle of the living room floor. The cats could have knocked it off, but none of the other stuffed animals that were around it were disturbed. My son could have wondered downstairs and moved it, but if he had I think ALL the animals would have been moved.

9/8 9:18PM - Heard the sound of a kitchen cabinet closing loudly. Nobody in the kitchen at the time.

9/7 8:30PM - Kona (dog) has a bell that hangs next to the stairs. He rings it when he needs to go outside. It rang by itself tonight. Kona and Ramses (cat) were both sleeping on the couch and Cleo (cat) was on the floor.

9/6 9:30PM - A small board that we use to secure the sliding glass door in the basement was leaning up against the door. It fell over on it’s own. Both cats and the dog were upstairs and in view at the time. It made an unusually loud sound like there was force behind it instead of just gravity.

9/6 6:00PM - The printer started on it’s own and printed out a picture of my brother who has passed this year. We were printing out pictures the night before so it may have been a glitch. Interesting to note that this glitch has never happened before.

9/6 3:30PM - We drove to the store. We were gone about 2 hours I think. When we got home our front door was wide open. We may have just forgotten to close it, but we have NEVER forgotten to shut the door when leaving before.

9/6 11:00AM - I put a movie in the DVD player for my son. It’s one of those annoying ones that you have to wait for the previews and then click thru two menus to start the movie. I was changing my daughter while waiting for the previews. I heard the familiar music of the first menu. Usually this would stay on until clicked, then a new menu comes up. I had just finished changing my daughter and I heard the movie begin. It had started on it’s own. The remote was next to me on the table. Nobody near it but myself. Could have been a glitch, but very odd and never happened before.

9/5 9:00PM - Patrick saw movement out of the corner of his eye near the stairs. Susan (Doll) is also located there. The stairs seems to be the area of most visual activity. I have been seeing this same thing for a few months, but Patrick never believed me.

9/5 7:30 PM - Patrick was with my son in his bedroom getting him ready for bed. They were playing on the floor, his back was to the door. He swears he heard the door open and heard me say, “Honey?”. When he turned around the door was still closed. I was downstairs at the time with my daughter.

9/5 5:00PM - Kona our dog chased something around the living room for 20 minutes, although he acted funny for the rest of the night. We followed him around and did not see anything he was chasing. No bugs, no nothing. He would run from one place to another. Stand up on his back legs, wagging his tail wildly and sniffing the air. He would stare at one spot then all the sudden he would look around and spot it somewhere else. Run over to that new spot and do the same. This went on for about 20-30 minutes. Never happened before.
