Do you fancy yourself a writer? Maybe a great story teller? Do you have an idea for a spooky story? As you know The Haunted Guest House is a blog for Weekly Spectre’s visitors to post their own entries about the paranormal. So to celebrate the Spooky Season I am having a short story contest. Someone also asked if they could do a poem and I think that would be a great idea. So a story OR poem!
The Rules:
1. Your entry MUST be original work. No Plagiarizing here!
2. It must be fiction.
3. It must be about some form of the paranormal, be it ghosts, big foot, UFO’s, etc…
4. I’m not going to put a minimum or maximum word count. This is a short story contest so use your own judgment on the length.
How To Post:
To post your story simply use the submission form. You will find it at the top of Haunted Guest House page, under the header image. PLEASE type in the word “ENTRY” after your title so I know it’s for the contest.
If you would rather send your story via email please send it to mommyd@weeklyspectre.com Type “Entry” into the subject line please. Also, if you want your website/facebook/twitter linked you need to include those links in the email.
Once I have received your entry I will review it to make sure it is within the rules. If your entry is excepted I will publish it at the Haunted Guest House for everyone to enjoy. On Oct. 29th the contest will close and the judging will begin. (Meet the judges below.) The winner will be announced here on Oct. 31 and sent an email.

Linda Moffitt is the author of “Washington’s Haunted Hotspots”. She is also a great friend and an awesome momma!
Courtney Mroch is the Zombie in Charge of “Haunt Jaunts, The travel Blog for restless spirits.” She is also a lovely, positive woman who would do anything for her friends.
Jessica Penot is the author of “Haunted North Alabama”. She is a very gifted writer and the girl knows how to tell a story!
And Me. Mommy D from Weekly Spectre and Mommy D’s Kitchen. A wannabe writer, mommy, kitchen witch and a confessed paranormal junky!
