Okay, so having read my previous posts……
(You have read my previous posts, right?), you know that I’m not the type to quickly jump to supernatural conclusions. But I keep seeing something in my house and I’m running out of natural explanations.
My house is very open. The kitchen, dinning room and living room are all open to each other with the stairs in the center. I keep seeing a shadow going up stairs. You know how when someone walks by and open door or window and it throws a moving shadow on the opposite wall? That’s EXACTLY what it looks like to me, but I don’t understand how it is going UP the stairs.
I always see it in the exact same place, and always out of the corner of my eye. Our TV is on top of the fireplace next to the stair case, so when your watching TV the stairs are in your line of site. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen it and assumed my son h
ad crawled out of his bed and was roaming around upstairs. I go up to put him back to bed and he is sound asleep. I have been seeing this shadow for about the last year, maybe year and a half. I’m not certain because for a long time I just dismissed it as just a shadow. Also our furniture hasn’t been facing the stairs the whole time we have lived here so I may well have been happening for years and I just never noticed because I wasn’t really facing the stairs to see it.
Now, as I said, I’m not one to jump to supernatural conclusions, so here is what I have tried so far. If I’m missing something and you have an idea I would love to hear it! I have included a few pictures of the stairs and my living room setup to help you understand better what I’m seeing.
The first thing I tried was changing where I would sit. I normally sit on the couch to watch TV. So instead I moved to the recliner. I still saw the same shadow.
I also tried making sure the window blinds and the door was closed to make sure it wasn’t a shadow from outside. I still saw it.
I tried Turning off lights. One at a time. So instead of having 3 lamps on I would have two for a few nights, then one for a few nights, then nothing but the TV for a few nights. Istill saw the same shadow.
The things I don’t get:
1. It is not moving in a horizontal manner like it would if it where a shadow cast by a person walking. It actually moves UP the stairs about halfway, then I don’t see it anymore.
2. It is ALWAYS in the same place, which suggests to me that either it is a shadow of something in the house that is repetitive, meaning something that is happening of a regular basis to cause this shadow to appear. or it is a residual haunting.
3. The times I glimpse it are not steady. It happens in the mornings, sometimes in the afternoon, and in the evenings. There doesn’t seem to be a pattern.
4. I only see it once, then when its gone, its gone until another day. I have never seen it twice on the same day. Also, I usually only see it once every couple of weeks.
So what Am I missing? Am I seeing something or is it my imagination? I dunno…maybe I have brain damage or something LOL.
P.S. When my son first started sleeping in his big boy bed he would cry and say his room was scary because of the ghost in the corner. I put a video monitor in his room to see what he was seeing but never caught anything strange. To be honest I assumed it was his imagination because of the new bed and all the change that was going on. Now that I think about it, he was just 2 yrs old. He doesn’t watch my paranormal shows..how would he know what a ghost is? Hmmm…maybe I should rethink that one.Mommy D
