Did you just see that?

View from Couch Upper stair case is were I see it.

Okay, so having read my previous posts……

(You have read my previous posts, right?), you know that I’m not the type to quickly jump to supernatural conclusions. But I keep seeing something in my house and I’m running out of natural explanations.

My house is very open. The kitchen, dinning room and living room are all open to each other with the stairs in the center.  I keep seeing a shadow going up stairs. You know how when someone walks by and open door or window and it throws a moving shadow on the opposite wall? That’s EXACTLY what it looks like to me, but I don’t understand how it is going UP the stairs.

I always see it in the exact same place, and always out of the corner of my eye. Our TV is on top of the fireplace next to the stair case, so when your watching  TV the stairs are in your line of site. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen it and assumed my son h

ad crawled out of his bed and was roaming around upstairs. I go up to put him back to bed and he is sound asleep. I have been seeing this shadow for about the last year, maybe year and a half. I’m not certain because for a long time I just dismissed it as just a shadow. Also our furniture hasn’t been facing the stairs the whole time we have lived here so I may well have been happening for years and I just never noticed because I wasn’t really facing the stairs to see it.

Now, as I said, I’m not one to jump to supernatural conclusions, so here is what I have tried so far. If I’m missing something and you have an idea I would love to hear it! I have included a few pictures of the stairs and my living room setup to help you understand better what I’m seeing.

The first thing I tried was changing where I would sit. I normally sit on the couch to watch TV. So instead I moved to the recliner. I still saw the same shadow.

I also tried making sure the window blinds and the door was closed to make sure it wasn’t a shadow from outside. I still saw it.

I tried Turning off lights. One at a time. So instead of having 3 lamps on I would have two for a few nights, then one for a few nights, then nothing but the TV for a few nights. Istill saw the same shadow.

The things I don’t get:

1. It is not moving in a horizontal manner like it would if it where a shadow cast by a person walking. It actually moves UP the stairs about halfway, then I don’t see it anymore.

2. It is ALWAYS in the same place, which suggests to me that either it is a shadow of something  in the house that is repetitive, meaning something that is happening of a regular basis to cause this shadow to appear. or it is a residual haunting.

3. The times I glimpse it are not steady. It happens in the mornings, sometimes in the afternoon, and in the evenings. There doesn’t seem to be a pattern.

4. I only see it once, then when its gone, its gone until another day. I have never seen it twice on the same day. Also, I usually only see it once every couple of weeks.

So what Am I missing? Am I seeing something or is it my imagination? I dunno…maybe I have brain damage or something LOL.

P.S.
When my son first started sleeping in his big boy bed he would cry and say his room was scary because of the ghost in the corner. I put a video monitor in his room to see what he was seeing but never caught anything strange. To be honest I assumed it was his imagination because of the new bed and all the change that was going on. Now that I think about it, he was just 2 yrs old. He doesn’t watch my paranormal shows..how would he know what a ghost is? Hmmm…maybe I should rethink that one.

Unfortunately our TV is so large that it will only fit above our fireplace. Oddly enough tho I haven't seen the shadow again for a few weeks. I haven't changed anything so I don't know what happened.

    Thanks for stopping by!

Have you tried moving the TV?? I used to see white lights out of the corner of my eye while watching tv in my room. Odd thing was there was a bullet hole in the wall behind my closet in the same area I seen the lights.. anyway I just happened to move my tv to the other side of the wall and even though I still looked at that area just from the other side I never seen the lights again. Maybe it is some odd shadow your tv is casting??

I haven't even had to time to notice if anything funny is going on lately. Things have been so busy around here. Maybe I should pay a bit more attention :)

Sounds like you are surrounded by dead relatives! HAHAHA!!!

But since you yelled uncle so very politely? I believe you have two visitors; one your brother (a bit of a prankster, by the way; who LOVES to mess with you) and your GreatGrandmother has been around a couple of times, already; as well. First time was to say Goodbye. A nice lady, by the way. Let me know when you wake up because you feel the warmth of her hand on your cheek. :)

I'm considering going back to the anonymous ghost! Why? So I'll know when there's a response to a posting. Sheesh! I can NOT figure out this whole “I comment on posting… Poster comments back… I have NO IDEA!!!

You may now call consider me “Poster child for the Poster Challenged; not to mentioned Computer Challenged!” But at least my cellphone works. That's a plus. ;)

    UNCLE…LOL You're a trip girl.
Anyway, the reason I think I have NEW people is because last month my brother passed away, two weeks ago my Great Grandmother passed away, and two days ago, my Father passed away.

Of all of them my Brother is the most likely candidate. He was so funny, and he and I shared the paranormal interest and TONS of others. I think he would think it quite funny and entertaining to show up her for a visit LOL. My great Grandmother probably went straight to heaven. She always said when she went to heaven she would spend all her time fishing. She loved fishing so her idea of heaven has a huge lake with tons of fish. She was awesome LOL. My Father, well I wont get into that one, but I doubt its him.

Of course it may just be gas or indigestion..LMAO

Say Uncle. :-) Estrogen files is correct, by the way. We all come into this world innocent and able to see fully; it's when we are told that what we see and here aren't true that we close down (or keep quiet about it, as in my case).

Some of us are more fully aware, for one reason or another. For others, it just takes practice. That's all!

Email it to me, if you like. You should have the address and if not; send a private message through FB and I can give it to you my personal email address.

I haven't seen the dude in question for a while, but I'm wondering if there isn't at least one new one.

Brenda, if you can see things in photos I may share an old one with you. I'd love to get your take. I was planning on posting it with part of a story I'll be doing on a certain place. When I do I'll be sure to let you know.

    Not to worry, cmroch;

Mommy D was already given insight via email a while back. Not sure whether or not she has verification as of yet. I do know her 'psychic connection' (I hate that term!) is 'dead' accurate; when it comes to these things… or so she's been told. ;)

  • mommydskitchen

It makes sense. You hear about kids who see things as children then stop as they get older. I don't know if it is innocence, or something else though. Maybe as you grow up your mind continues to develop and the part that allows you to see things sometimes just turns off? I dunno, “I'm not a DR. I just play one on the Web.” ;) LMAO

Thank you for commenting and visiting me!

The opinion in our home is that the younger the child, the more likely they will be to see and experience “things” we as adults don't see. Maybe related to the innocence of a child?

    Love your site.

LOL okay. Thanks. You make me giggle…thanks hahaha

WILD! I don't have any explanations that might help, but I just had to comment on how GORGEOUS your stairs are! Love them!!!

  • mommydskitchen

    LMAO.
So we are really a couple of rednecks huh? LOL
Are you a farmers daughter too? I'm from a VERY small town in Utah. All we had was the cliche general store. For anything else we had to go to the nearest town. I liked it much better there then living in the city like I do now.

So I have taken a ghost pic, but I can't see it. Kinda takes the fun out of it! *pout*
Still don't see it, but I'll be on the look out for anything else.

  • http://www.heartcenteredpsychic.com Brenda

HaHaHa!! Country bumbpkin! You must be talking about me. You've seen my site and know where I live…. right?? Two words for you. Beans and corn!

Yes, you did catch something. I looked at the small and larger pics for both; and what I 'see' differs from the technical picture (being of both minds). The energy isn't present in the second photo.
You know I've worked on investigations, as well, so I looked at them from that perspective, too; while keeping in mind two photos really aren't enough to go on. Still…

    Good catch, my dear! :-)

HA! Thanks for clarifying. When you say “counter” I automatically went to kitchen counter…you're talking to a country bumpkin ya know, so adjust your big words and fancy talk accordingly ya here? LMAO

Well sweetie, I still don't see what you're seeing. Maybe my eyes are worse then I thought (need knew reading glasses) or I'm just looking in the wrong place.

I wasn't actually trying to take a ghost pic. I was taking the pic to show where I was seeing what ever it was so people could offer suggestions on what it could be, but hey if I got a ghost posing for my snapshot BONUS! ;)

FYI. Not kitchen counter, silly; just to clarify. Counter in foreground! :)

    Hope the baths went well!

There is a 'tall' (lol!) person standing at the corner of the counter. Said 'tall' person is not in the 2nd photo. I didn't even notice the dirty dishes, clutter, etc. (although it looks pretty neat and tidy to me; considering you have two small children!); but let's suffice it to say; that's not what would attract my attention. Your 'tall' person does. :)

Off to dinner; will check back in later… if you still can't find it; let me know!

Hmm…I looked where you said near the counter but I don't see anything odd.

If you are referring to those dirty dishes and clutter, nope that is not phantom clutter, I'm just that lazy! :)

I tried asking him about the ghost, but he wasn't really able to describe it other than tall. But to a 2 yr old tall could mean anything.

Seriously though, I'm not seeing it, can you tell me exactly where your looking?

No doubt about it. You're sharing your home with another! Take a closer look at your first photo. See if you see the same thing as I do. Although, I 'see' things in photos; even over the internet. Part of my charm! Ha! :-)

Did you ask your little one about what the 'scary person' looks like, etc. Not to worry; your scary person isn't scary at all.
